Cusco, Peru

Flying from Lima to Cusco

Plaza de Armas, downtown Cusco

The Cathedral

This church is very similar to other churches in Mexico

Museo del Sitio del Qorikancha

I love this minimalistic architecture

This Saqsaywaman

School parade downtown Cusco

This is a typical government building

Qorikancha at night

This balcony style is very common in colonial Peru

Plaza de Armas, downtown Peru

This was the entrance to the old inquisition gallery.

One aspect of these building that it's interesting is the fact that the missionaries used rocks from the pyramids to build their churches. It was an act of empowerment and indoctrination to show the locals the new Spanish order.
